Children's Pastor
Children's Pastor Overview
Hermiston Nazarene Church is a community in Eastern Oregon that loves Jesus. It is a place that seeks Him and finds ways that always serves others. Our theme and focus is to pray, listen, act. Pray asking God what He wants us to invest in His Church. Listen to what He is saying. Act on what you heard Him say. HermNaz is a family that believes we must evolve our methods of ministry while preserving the Jesus of the Gospel. Our Children’s Pastor will work with existing staff and ministry teams in creating ministry opportunities in our community as well as create, run, and enhance the children’s ministry program.
The Children’s Pastor description will include:
- - Build, create, and oversee the HermNaz children’s program serving ages birth through 5th grade.
- The kids at HermNaz are a major part of the life of the church and love their church and deserve our best. Our Children’s Pastor will plan and execute weekly kid’s ministry programing on Sunday and midweek.
- Involve our kids in missions on their age level.
- Provide worship at their level.
- Assist parents in discipling their students and reach out to those whose parents/families are not yet part of the HermNaz family.
- Recruit and develop a team of volunteers who will assist in planning ministry events and communicating with parents.
- Invest in attending school activities our kids are part of.
- Build a program that includes VBS, CityFest, Christmas specials, and other monthly/quarterly ministry opportunities.
- - Opportunities to preach and teach the larger congregation may be provided if there is interest.
- - All staff work in direct direction of the Lead Pastor.
- - Children’s Pastor will serve in other capacities as needed.
